With this website, Finisterra – Cooperativa de Lacticínios do Topo, CRL, takes another step towards its institutional promotion within the general public, sector partners, customers and associates.
As Finisterra’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, recently elected, I will try, through the available means, to provide public visibility to our Cooperative as it is an institution of the utmost importance for the milk economy in São Jorge Island, particularly in the Topo Area where we are located.
Apart from assuming itself as a driving force of the economy in the Topo Area, Finisterra also plays a major role as a social organization, as it constitutes a bonding agent of a vast set of people who form the living body of the cooperative entity.
Recent investments of great significance, supported by the European Union and the Azores Regional Government, have enabled Finisterra to modernize its industrial structure, keeping it in line with the most demanding European Union standards for the sector.
Our cooperative places high quality cheeses on the market, produced with raw milk, including PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) – São Jorge and Topo, which are marketed through Lactaçores, an entity accessible from this website.
This website is mainly intended to be an institutional page, but it is also a way of getting to know our cooperative, its present, past and future, and a window on the milk economy in São Jorge and, in general, on our island, particularly the Topo area, in which we are located.
